Established in 1853, the University of Melbourne is a public-spirited institution that makes distinctive contributions to society in researchlearning and teaching and engagement. It’s consistently ranked among the leading universities in the world, with international rankings of world universities placing it as number 1 in Australia and number 32 in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2017-2018).

Doing Exchange or Study Abroad at Melbourne you'll be studying at Australia's no. 1 ranked university, taught by leading academics, with students from all over the world – while also earning credits towards your home degree!

Location

You'll be living in the heart of Melbourne, consistently voted the most liveable city in the world, where you can explore its lush parklands, thriving arts scene and strong foodie culture. You'll enjoy a rich campus life, offering a range of fun events and activities outside of class. You'll also be supported by our Exchange and Study Abroad team every step of the way, from when you apply to when you arrive, start class and it's time to go home.

Melbourne has become one of the world’s most multicultural cities and a dynamic international business hub, but it’s still easy to navigate. The inner city is a cluster of exciting communities connected by public transport and bike paths – and the University of Melbourne is at the heart of it all. You can walk along the famous cobblestone lanes, see a world-class theatre production or linger over an amazing meal – and if you don’t yet have an AFL team, you might want to choose one! Regional Victoria is world famous for its iconic beaches, wineries, bushwalking and farm-to-table food and is just a short train or bus ride away.
